After a couple months of preparation and planning we are very excited to finally open our doors. Beginning today (Monday, February 25th) we are open M – F 8am to 5:30pm. Make an appointment or just bring your pet by to say hi!
No doubt many Prineville residents will remember the current location of Crooked Tails as the SNIP House, where the SNIP program (Spay and Neuter Investment Project of Prineville) worked to spay & neuter Prineville’s feral and stray cat population. SNIP is a fantastic program that helps a lot of animals and has been dearly missed since closing in 2008. With the opening of Crooked Tails, we are extremely happy to say that the SNIP program will once again be up and running, in partnership with the full service clinic. SNIP’s first program will be a FREE feral cat spay/neuter service – just drop off feral cats in traps at Crooked Tails Monday-Friday mornings between 8 and 9am and come pick them up between 4 and 5:30pm!
Since early January the crew has been hard at work transforming the SNIP House into the Crooked Tails Vet Clinic. This is the second big renovation this building has seen. The first was a MAJOR construction job in converting it from a run down old house to the state-of-the-art SNIP House.
The SNIP was a beautiful facility but specialized for doing high volumes of spays and neuters. In order to convert it to a full service clinic we just had a few things we needed to add. The main renovations were adding 2 exam rooms so that Dr. Bethany can check out the patients, as well a dedicated room for the new digital x-ray machine. We are excited about the progress and will soon be posting photos of the cleaned up and polished clinic!
